For a couple of days Delphi starter was available for free from the Embarcadero Store at https://www.embarcadero.com/app-development-tools-store/delphi. A lot of developers from the Community asked me if the Advantage Database Server Components can be used with Delphi starter.
In the meantime I’ve registered and downloaded this edition and was surprised it contains TDataset, which is the base for the ADS components. So I made the steps described here and was able to use Advantage from the starter edition.
Even for those who didn’t get it for free – it’s still a low cost possibility to write database applications.
